How does borrowing work?
  1. Find your style.
    Browse through our assortment of veils and headpieces!
  2. Reserve your veil and headpiece.
    Select the product you want and click BORROW. Next, select how long you want to borrow the item for by choosing 5 or 10 days and entering the calendar dates. We encourage you to reserve your items as soon as possible to ensure you get your desired selections. We recommend selecting your rental start date 2 days before your special event to guarantee your order will arrive on time. It is also nice to hang the veil up 1-2 days before your event, allowing any light wrinkles to fall out that may appear after transit. Lastly, click ADD TO BAG. Perform this process with all items you want to borrow and then complete the checkout process by entering your shipping and billing information.
  3. Wear.
    Get dressed up for your big day and say “I do” to the one you love!
  4. Return.
    Easy and Free! Package your item in the original box it came in. Use the prepaid and preaddressed shipping label we email you and place in a UPS drop box the day after your event. No cleaning necessary! Find the closest UPS drop box at www.ups.com/dropoff.
When should I reserve my items?
As soon as you know you need it! The sooner you reserve your items, the better, to ensure you get your desired selection. Our calendar allows you to make a reservation 4 weeks out or more from the current date. We recommend reserving your item to be delivered 2 days before your event. For veils especially, it is nice to hang the veil up 1-2 days before your event, allowing any light wrinkles to fall out that may appear after transit.
How do I add another product to an order that I already placed?
Simply place a new order.
When does my rental period begin and end?
Your rental period starts on the day you choose your order to arrive, which is the date you select on the reservation calendar. For example, if you select to have your veil delivered on a Thursday, that is your start date and you would need to drop your package off at the post office to be returned to us on Monday (5 days later). We ask that you postmark your item back to us by noon on the last day of your rental. If you receive your item in the mail before your start date, you still have until the last day of your original end date when you made the calendar reservation.
If my rental period ends on a Sunday or National Holiday, what should I do?
If your rental ends on a Sunday or National Holiday, it needs to be postmarked the following business day.
How do I know my veil or headpiece is clean?
We clean and inspect each product with the utmost care before restocking the item in our warehouse. Our quality control center is very strict and only ships out product that looks perfect for your wedding day. We proudly use Shaklee cleaning supplies that are environmentally safe. Please contact us at info@SomethingBorrowedBride.com if you are interested in how you can purchase these cleaning products for your own home and personal use.
What if I want to keep the veil or headpiece?
Absolutely! If you decide you would like to keep your veil or headpiece after you have borrowed it, please contact us at info@SomethingBorrowedBride.com. You do not need to send it back if you decide to keep it. We will charge your credit card the remaining amount due.
What if I accidentally damage the veil or headpiece?
We are able to take care of minor damage such as missing beads and gem stones; however, if the product is damaged and we cannot use the product again, you will be charged the full retail value for the item, less the borrowing fee. You are responsible for loss, destruction or damage to the products due to theft, mysterious disappearance, fire, stains, rips/tears/holes or any other cause and we hope to never run into this problem. Please note that if there is even the tiniest rip/tear/hole, we are generally not able to use the item again. Unfortunately if these situations occur, your credit card will be charged immediately up to the full retail price of the item.
What if I want to borrow a veil or headpiece that isn’t currently featured on your site?

Do you offer custom design orders?
It depends on the request and when you need it by. All custom design orders are for purchase only (you cannot borrow custom design items). Custom design orders are final sale and non refundable. Please contact us at info@SomethingBorrowedBride.com if you are interested in a custom design order.
What type of payment do you accept?
We currently accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
Is it safe to pay with my credit card online at Something Borrowed?
The security of your personal information is extremely important to us. When you enter your credit card number while checking out, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

When is my credit card charged for the rental?
At the time you borrow an item and checkout (reserving your item in advance), your credit card will be charged immediately.
How do I cancel my order?
If you would like to cancel an item you have reserved, simply log into your account and in your cart you will have the option to press “cancel.” If you cancel your item within 20 days or more of your rental start date, we will immediately credit your card with 100% money back. If you cancel 19 days or less from your rental start date, we will refund you your original payment less $5.00 for each item, due to restocking and preventing another bride from borrowing. If we have already shipped your item, return it within 24 hours of when you receive it for your money back, except for shipping.
How do I know my order will arrive in time?
We know that one of the most important days of your life is your wedding. It is extremely important to us that your items arrive on time, which is why we have partnered with UPS to create a specialized Something Borrowed account to help us track your delivery. Please note that your order can be delivered anytime up until 8:00pm local time. You will receive an email with shipment tracking information when your order ships via UPS, allowing you to track your package(s). If you do not receive your package by 8:00pm local time on your rental start date, call us immediately at 1-651-900-0887 and we will fix the situation.
Can I track my order online?
We ship all of our orders through UPS. Once the package is dispatched to UPS, they will send you an email with a tracking number for you to reference the shipment status and expected delivery online.
How much does shipping cost?
We have flat shipping prices for all products to all places in the USA to make it easy for you. Our headpieces are $6.99 for shipping and our veils are $7.99 for shipping. Remember, return shipping on borrowed items is free!
Do I need to sign for my order?
No, you do not need to sign for your order. Once UPS delivers the package to you and drops it off, you are responsible for the package if it is lost or stolen.
Do you deliver outside the continental United States?
Currently, we only ship and deliver borrowed items within the continental United States. However, if you are located outside the United States and are interested in purchasing an item to buy (not borrow) please contact us and we can let you know what shipping costs will be.
Can you deliver to a hotel or location other than my home?
Absolutely! Just provide the exact address to which you want the veil or headpiece delivered. If we are delivering to a hotel, please include the hotel name and full address. Make sure the hotel concierge or someone is expecting your delivery. If the hotel or other location other than your home misplaces or loses the delivered items, you will be held responsible.
How do I return my order for a borrowed item?
Remember, no cleaning is necessary! Simply package your order in the same box it came in, unless the box is damaged and unusable. A damaged box is very rare, but if it does occur, you will be responsible for getting a new box. After you have packaged your item in the box, use packaging tape to secure the closure. Next, print off the return label we email you and place on top of the old shipping label. Lastly, drop off at any UPS drop box or UPS locations. Make sure you post the package by no later than 12pm on the return date. If your return date falls on a Sunday or National Holiday, it must be postmarked by 12pm the following day. It is important that we receive the item back on time so we can ensure availability to other brides, so please don’t forget!
How do I return my order for a bought item?
If you are not satisfied with an item you purchased, and if the product has not been worn, then you may return the product to us within 10 days of the date you received the item. If you return it to us within 10 days you will receive a full refund (less shipping). After 10 days, it is a final sale.
What if I return my order late for a borrowed item?
If you return the product late, you will be charged a late fee of $20.00 per day up to the full retail price. You may extend your order past five (5) or ten (10) days, however you must contact customer service at least two (2) days before your original return due date.
What if the renter before me returns the item late?
We have backup inventory for each item on hand. If you have successfully reserved your date, no need to worry!
What if I misplace or lose my return shipping label or packaging?
Something Borrowed emails each customer a pre-paid return label upon shipment for borrowed items only. If you misplace the return shipping label, it is your responsibility to send the order back to us by the due date at your own expense. Be sure to write your order number on the outside of the box. If you need assistance, please contact us at 1-651-900-0887.
If I am not satisfied with my order, can I get my money back?
When you receive your order for a BORROWED item, if you are not satisfied, you have 24 hours to send it back to us for a full refund excluding shipping. If you would like to return an item bought, you have 10 days from the date you receive the item. After 10 days, it is a final sale.
What if I borrow two items and I am not happy with one, but want to still use the other?
We ship each product in its own packaging to ensure safe delivery since they are delicate and fragile pieces. If you are not satisfied with a product, you can return it within 24 hours for a full refund excluding shipping.
